What You Need to Know

The Lighthouse is a seasonal lodging property open from May 1st to October 31st.

Front Desk Hours: Opens daily from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. (note: office is CLOSED from 7:00pm to 8:00 am)

Guests Check In/Checkout: Lighthouse check-in time is 4:00 pm and check out time is 11:00 am. We will make every effort to personalize our guests’ stays if provided ETA information at time of reservation. Early check-ins and Late-checkout requests are subject to occupancy and can be requested through our front desk only. Additional charges may apply for late check-outs.

Minimum Age Requirements: You must be 18 years or older to be able to book. A Valid picture ID and a valid method of payment is required. The credit card holder must be present at time of check-in.

Rates & Occupancy:  All rates are based on double occupancy – extra person 16 or older is $25 + HST.  No charge for children 15 years of age and younger.  For weekly rates, please contact us.  All rooms are based on 2 Adult occupancy.  Each additional adult is $25 + HST to a maximum of 4 adults for rooms with 2 beds.  Some rooms can accommodate a roll-away bed for a fee of $25/night + HST in addition to any additional adult fee.  Nestor’s Point Riverfront Cottage is based on an occupancy of 4 Adults.  Each additional Adult (to a maximum of 6) will be charged $40/Adult.

Cancellation Policy: Because of our small size, cancellations affect us greatly.  We take a 50% deposit at the time of booking.

A deposit of 50% of the cost of accommodations booked, including tax, holds your reservation. The balance of accommodation will be charged within the cancellation period. Refunds (minus $25.00 plus tax, cancellation fee) will be made only if cancellations are made within the respective policy. We will do our best to rebook any cancellations or booked accommodations; however, the buyer of that booked time will be responsible for that time/or any days not rebooked. To date, in prime-season we have been fortunate to be able to refund most deposits.

Accepted Methods of Payment: Visa, Mastercard, American Express. Debit Card.  Cash & Debit Card payments will require the equivalent security deposit.

Pet Policy:  Dogs with responsible dog-owners are welcome at The Lighthouse.  Most units are dog-friendly. Kindly notify us at time of booking to learn of availability.  A $25 + HST/dog/stay Pet-fee will be charged. Dogs must never be left alone in the room. Please note that guests are not allowed to leave any dog(s) in any vehicles at night on the Lighthouse property.

The Lighthouse Motel & Cottages is an older property with some quirks. As such, we ask that all guests use good judgment and refrain from behaving in ways that might endanger themselves, other guests, or the property itself.  Quiet time is 11:00 PM.  For the comfort of all guests, we ask guests to use common sense and be respectful of noise levels within their private space as well as all outdoor areas such as the firepit, waterfront, sitting areas.  Should this not be respected, we reserve the right to charge a service fee of up to $250.  The Lighthouse is not a typical lodging facility and has many curated decorative items more commonly found in homes.  Should any items go missing, applicable charges will be made.

Parking: We have sufficient parking for one vehicle per room rental (including motorcycles) in front of each room.  Kindly let us know in advance if you have more than one vehicles (including motorcycles) in order for us to plan for alternate parking on the property.  This includes any trailers/boats/etc… Mooring of Boats: $40/night – based on availability – please make arrangements at time of booking.

Smoking Policy: The Lighthouse is 100% non-smoking facility. Smoking (cigarettes or cannabis) is not permitted anywhere inside the motel or cottages.  Smoking cigarettes or cannabis is permitted outdoors.  Please use supplied ashtrays.  We ask that you to be respectful of non-smokers and not smoke near any guestrooms.  Should it be determined that smoking has taken place in a guestroom, we will charge a $250.00 non-refundable cleaning fee, placed on the guest folio before or after check-out.

Private Beach: No lifeguard is on duty. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Our Address: We are located on the beautiful LaHave River at 1101 Hwy 331, Conquerall Bank (NS) just 10 minutes south of Bridgewater on the Lighthouse Route (Hwy 331).

Privacy Policy

The Lighthouse Motel & Cottages is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information of its guests.

 

What is considered personal information?

Personal information is information that can identify and individual such as name, home address, telephone number and email address. It does not information that is publicly available. During interactions, we may ask guests to voluntarily provide us with their personal information.

 

What information do we collect?

We use guest personal information to process reservations.

Under certain circumstances, we may be required to disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by law enforcement agencies.

 

What are your rights as a guest in relation to your personal information?

All guests have the right to review any information that we have collected from them and that we retain on file, and they can choose to update or delete this information at any time by contacting Lighthouse Motel & Cottages.

 

Do we share your personal information with anyone?

We do not sell, trade, rent, share or give away any guest personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.  Nor do we disclose guest personal information to any third parties without their express consent, unless a limited disclosure of your personal information is necessary to fulfill a service that facilitates your stay with us. For example, we do disclose personal information to the financial institution that processes credit card information or financial transactions.

 

Our Security Measures

The management team at the Lighthouse Motel & Cottages are personally responsible for maintaining customer confidence in the company. In the unlikely event of an employee violating our privacy policy, they will be subjected to disciplinary action, up to and including termination for cause. Employees are required to report any violations of the privacy policy. Any employee receiving a complaint about our privacy practices is required to immediately bring this to the attention of the management.

Please note that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we do our very best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

For guest protection, we encourage guests not to include any sensitive personal information in any e-mails you may send to us. Please do not send credit card details or any other sensitive personal information to us by e-mail.
